My Journey to Skin Care That Works
Growing up, I had a lot of issues with my skin. From severe acne (that I swear was ruining my life) to eczema and even painful outbreaks of shingles.
One of my worst skin care moments was before school photos. I had a bad breakout and combined acne treatments, spot removers and these little circle pads you leave on overnight. Turns out the chemicals didn’t combine well so I had bright red circles highlighting every pimple I tried to treat. It looked like I was attacked by a giant squid… I had had enough.
Years of trying different “solutions” and wasting hundreds of dollars caused me to give up on my skin. Surprisingly, a few days after quitting my entire routine my skin started to clear up. This was my first clue that the products available were doing more harm than good, and that there must be a better solution out there.
A while later I started getting random flair ups of eczema and shingles. I wasn’t going to use chemical filled products like I had on my acne, so I decided to start living healthier in general. I cut out all the processed junk food from my diet and started eating well. I was providing real nutrition to my body and saw a definite improvement in my skin. Then it dawned on me… Just like the other parts of the body, your skin needs a set of vitamins and minerals to be healthy.
